Ingredients

  • 4 cups Flour
  • 3 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Salad Oil
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups Buttermilk
  • 1 cup Raisins
  • 1/2 cup White Raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix together flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda and set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine sugar, eggs, salad oil, and buttermilk.
  4. Gradually pour flour mix into buttermilk mix until all ingredients are well blended.
  5. Mixture should be thick, not creamy.
  6. Stir in both dark and white raisins until well combined, then place dough in a greased and floured baking pan.
  7. Bake for about 60 minutes then remove bread from oven and let cool outside the pan wrapped in a kitchen towel.
